Flowers hold a special place in our hearts and our culture. Humans have always been drawn to these purely biological organs of plants, assigning them meaning and using them in literature and art. 

You would think that such mundane subjects may lose some of their appeal over millennia. However, just like bees we are drawn to them again and again. Whether it's because they make our brain drool in anticipation of fruit or because their shape, colours and texture make our eyes ecstatic with aesthetics, the fact remains that we continue to admire them.

I see them as a promise, a renewal of life, almost a dream of youth. Even more so when it's about tree blossoms. 

I took these photos a couple of weeks ago while on a day trip to the countryside. I tried to edit them to make the colours softer, more muted, with hues a bit different than in reality. I also used less contrast, while still emphasising light areas. I wanted them to evoke an elusive joyfulness as if I were walking among these trees in a dream. I hope I succeeded and that you also enjoy them. 😊
