Metalex is an Egyptian factory that operates in the metal fabrication sector. They cut, fold, and shape different metallic designs for different purposes targeting a wide range of customer segments. Using the latest technology in metal fabrication CNC, it allows them to innovate freely without having any constraints.
When we first met with Metalex founder, he set the direction to be “ unique and everlasting” He wanted to create a logo that stands the test of time and have high level of uniqueness. That required us to create a full visual language from which we can extract the identity system.
Name rational
Before selecting the final brand name, we did a comprehensive research first to ensure that it's the strongest alias of the word metal. Other names were on table, however, Metalex was the winning card, due to being easy to pronounce in different languages and having the sharpness match with the industry.
Logo concept
The metal fabrication process is full of details. Starting from the metal manufacturing to the final product design. What happens in between inspired us a lot while working on the brand logo type. Every curve and ending was meant to reflect a part of the process and that helped us create a custom language for Metalex. In any of the word mark letters, where there is a stem meeting an arc, or a bar meeting a stem, a fold occurs just like in real metal fabrication process.
Building a futuristic language that reflects Metalex innovative essence.
The brand visual identity system is built upon the industry tokens. Inspired by the daily factory operations, we created a visual language for Metalex that communicates with its essence and helps in representing more content in less words. The visual compositions of the brand were meant to be complex with a futuristic touch for the sake of coming up with a more authentic look.
