REMAKE 01
Creative Proces and remaking of an old painting, with an obstruction
Nameless painting, 2019, acrylic on wood, 155x70 cm

Introduction
I chose this painting because I never finished it, yet it had a lot of potential, also because it brought me a lot of joy to paint.
Obstruction
My obstruction became '3D'
The Proces
I tried a creative exercise, where i randomly scribbled, and afterwards tried to draw something out of the shapes:
To the left: a scared fly and a monkey (?) To the right: a merman (?)
Then I started to think, how did I feel when I made the painting?

Then I found the playlist I'd made at the same time:
i chose 3 songs that reminded me the most of the painting.

Then I made a color palette of the painting:

While figuring out how to make it into 3D, I started packing my things into boxes (bc i am moving)
Moving stuff around, made me decide to build the elements of the painting in Blender:
And then it became this:

Then i thought, could I make it more 3D?
I took a break, and scrolled instagram, and decided I could make my own filter!
I downloaded Spark AR, and added my 3D objects from the isometric room:
The transition from Blender to Spark AR made the objects look weirdly shaped and very dark. So I tried to add the isometric room as a whole:
The Remake
It became a filter! I decided, the most 3D thing would be, if you could experience it irl.
If you are on your phone, you can try it yourself: https://www.instagram.com/emmasofieskunst/
Reflection:
I'd never thought that i would go from a classic painting, to an instagram filter, but it was a fun proces! If i had more time, i would have made the filter into a 3D shape, and not a png.
