Warren Lammert's profile

LSE Offers Innovative Scholarship in a Time of Crisis

The chief investment officer of Granite Point Capital since 2004, Warren Lammert oversees a $480 million portfolio. Warren Lammert has developed a notable career in finance and investing over the past 30 years, beginning with an education at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Since enrolling its first few hundred students in 1895, LSE has gone on to serve as a constant innovator in terms of not only the quality and breadth of its educational experience but also the contributions of its alumni and faculty to law, history, government, economics, and the arts and sciences.

In 2020 the school, like the rest of the academic world, faced one of its most serious challenges as it worked to deliver the same in-depth scholarship, informed policy guidance, and educational opportunities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

LSE’s response on the research front has included its scholars’ and collaborators’ work in helping shape public policy around the world by producing pandemic-related lectures, live-streamed discussions, podcasts, virtual networking events, and social policy papers. Its School of Public Policy, for example, has applied principles of social science research to enrich an interdepartmental Global Health Initiative policy platform that brings together a detailed analysis of multiple aspects of the pandemic.

LSE’s website grants the public free access to podcasts, webinars, and videos capturing numerous discussions on the pandemic and global health, featuring interviews with and discussions among leading public health authorities.
