Sleuth 101 Online was an 8-week online experience based on Sleuth 101, the TV series for ABC TV Australia broadcast in early 2010. The 8 original episodes of Sleuth 101 Online rolled out in sync with the TV series. Each online episode presented an interactive murder mystery to be solved by the audience. Episodes were made available directly following the on-air episode which directed audiences to the interactive experience. The home page of the experience displayed the cases that were available to play. A new case was released each week.
The audience could read a short synopsis of each case before they began.
The host of the TV show, comedian Cal Wilson, introduced the case, while an animated  sequence summarised the characters and key events.
The interactive case file allowed the audience to begin their detective work by reviewing the facts of the case.
The audience could browse the case file features, including a video recap of the crime, a profile of the victim and the items of evidence.
The audience could also access a file on each of the four suspects, including their personal details and profile.
The audience could also interrogate the suspects, by selecting a question from the checklist to play an audio response.
Once the audience had an idea of who the murderer was, they could make an accusation by dragging and dropping a suspect, motive and evidence onto the Charge Sheet.
If the accusation was incorrect, Cal offered a chance to try again. The user also had the option to skip right through and reveal the murderer.
Each online chapter had a unique colour scheme.
