BUBBLE BLOWING MACHINE
The goal of this project is to design a hand-held product with the bionic appearance. And find suitable materials sa manufacturing techniques for this design.
The bubble machine is a handheld toy to create bubbles by blowing soap solution. It contains a ring to dip the solution and an electric fan to blow. The main part of the toy is a hollow cylinder for users to hold, along with the bubble water storage container at the bottom of the main body to contain the soap solution. When the user taps the button at the front of the main body, the solution will be pushed to the rings at the top, and the fan will be activated. The toy also contains a special shape air outlet to help concentrate the wind, and a flower-back as a background. The appearance of this product is novel to people, and they can share the bubble machine and joy without safe concern.

Both the material choice and the processing technique are critical for our product design. Every single part of this toy is made of polymer, which is one of the most designable branches of materials science. The choice of included polymer materials considered the aesthetics, eco-friendly, safety and costs, and the recyclability. While the processing technique for each part of the product is a balance between the quality and economy.

Both the choice of materials usage and processing technique are balances between our goal to create a good design and the cost. In the former part, some more expensive polymers like ABS are only used when necessary. Similarly, the injection molding is only applied for those who have a complex shape and appearance. However, even if we are always making a trade-off, what we cannot give up is the concern for safety. As a result, the extra antivirus gradients are used, although the cost might be higher.
