In 2016, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines published a study opposing the burial of Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Part of the Commission's mandate is to conduct and disseminate historical research and resolve historical controversies. Pamphlets were created to present the documents significant to the study. The design for the cover of the pamphlet was inspired by Esquire magazine's October 1968 issue entitled, "Salvaging the 20th Century". The pamphlets were printed in a limited run and made available to the public.
