In life, we all desire to have control of our behaviors, emotions, and situations. In my symbol there are two lives of people who are striving for self-control.  The one on the right side is trying to find control by its own methods, ways, and beliefs. So the right side of the key represents his life, one filled with some success (straight lines) but mostly it is a life dominated by chaos and dysfunction (curved lines).  On the opposite side, the other person is fully open and connected to God, working though him and letting God have mastery over his life. As represented by his side of the key, it is straight, which is only accomplished by the power of the Lord and not by one’s own methods. Having God work through us and be the master over our lives is the key to self-control. My final pieces are separated into three categories. The first category with the chaotic, messy backgrounds represents the right side/disconnected person. The second category with collaged newspapers and magazines represents the person who is connected to God. The key being white represents being connected to God. The last category is the plain color background, which represents the pureness of God and the white triangle represents God in general.
