Souvenirs for Russian Railways

Our concept is based on a distinctive typography, which, first, incorporates elements that are used for marking freight cars, and, second, utilizes rough textures and crude industrial shapes (e.g., metal, slices, perforation) reminiscent of rail freight transportation.

Technical information is critical for marking freight cars. A set of numbers and letters in a strictly defined order makes it possible to identify all relevant and necessary characteristics. Instead of hiding this information, we decided to incorporate these elements into design of our souvenir products. These special characteristics, which describe type of material, dimensions, etc., form the typography basis and become the main element of the design.
