I also brought along an assistant to help me carry my gear and also because I am not good with new places I felt more comfortable having someone there with me.

As their website  and socials didn’t have many photos of the place I couldn’t really plan ahead with this so I went into the shoot expecting to take photos of everything and then once I’ve gone through them I will see if anything needs changing or improving on.
My shooting method was to really shoot everything and anything as I was getting a feel of the place and did not want to miss out on anything. I also got a few portraits of the volunteers who were getting ready to do their deliveries. Sara who is the manager of the food hub requested to take photos of her as she didn't have any, she also said to get some photos of the produce being placed in the car. I am very grateful for the opportunity to take photos at the Very Local Food hub project, it was so beneficial for my final project. I sent all these images over to Sara who was very thankful for the images, as she has only taken images on her phone so was very happy to have some professional photos for her socials. Most of the shots were taken with my 28mm lens.
What worked?
After looking through all the photos I am very happy with how they turned out, I feel that the photos are very aesthetically pleasing. I feel that I have some great contenders for my final edit. I did not go back to Very Local only because I am very happy with the shots I already have and felt I did not need to go back.

What didn't work?
I went into the shoot with an idea in my head and with too high hopes so left the shoot feeling a little bit disappointed. I was expecting it to be more like a food bank but it was a produce food hub, I now see that this shoot was very beneficial to my project as I did not visit a place that was filled such amazing produce such as the Very Local.

What would I do differently next time?
Don't go into the shoot expecting different things as sometimes it can be demotivating. Prepare for any weather as it started raining whilst I was outside taking photos of the volunteers packing up their cars.
The images below are the ones that I think will work best within my final sequence. I have 2 portraits of the volunteers which I feel work really well because they are both holding the fresh produce which adds an essential part to the shoot. I also have 2 shots of the produce in their vehicles which shows the important stage of delivery. I feel that the landscape portrait is a really beautiful shot as it has a rainbow in the background which is very relevant in this pandemic as it symbolises hope. Also the teddy bear with the umbrella makes it look like he is protecting her.
Hundreds of schools are encouraging pupils to put up paintings to "spread hope" after a trend started online.
A spokesman for Grange First School in Newcastle said: "We are hoping to spread our cheerful windows campaign as wide as possible.
"Signs are going up in windows all over our area and beyond and will really help maintain morale for children (and families) in these difficult times."
