The Alley Cats

Street Art
"The Alley Cats"
W/ Georges-Étienne Royer-Gagné
100 x 8 ft mural
Canada, Sherbrooke, 2020.
This fence is used to temporarily hide the construction site that will transform downtown Sherbrooke. Without a doubt, the year 2020 is socially difficult for everyone. We consciously chose to represent cats since these animals amuse us and put us in a good mood. This decision goes hand in hand with the location of the palisades, because they are in a way the cats of the alleys of downtown Sherbrooke. In addition, the mission of this construction project is to create a city center with a significant social mix. So we chose to personify each of the cats in order to visually represent this diversity: the student, the athlete, the hipster, the CEO, the punk, the builder, the young, the old, etc. In conclusion, this project represents the present and the near future of downtown Sherbrooke in a fun and entertaining way.
