Within my design process for the company Tree Branch one of my main focuses had to do with designing a free flowing shape that connected back to the idea of nature and trees. Inspired by the Matisse piece included within the design brief, I used curves and negative space within my design to allow the customer to envision the Tree for themselves and then included the name of the company on a curved path along the root of the tree.
I started my process scrolling through Pinterest and searching for inspiration around trees and looking for any font that would stand out to me. I stuck with Thonburi as it exemplified the simple, clean look that the company, "Tree Branch" desired. I made sure to create a look sans serif and to overall create a look that caught the attention of the consumer while making it as simple as possible.
When it came to playing around with color schemes and incorporating color into the overall design of my logo I focused on using colors that reminded me of nature and gave the design a sense of life. For the monochromatic color scheme I focused on greens that connect well to the idea of a tree. Within the triadic color scheme I wanted to be more daring and focused on colors that stood out a bit while highlighting a green shade again. Similarly with the analogus and complementary schemes I yet again highlighted colors within trees or colors that felt tied to nature. The greens can be found on leaves where as the pink and browns can be found on the tree trunk itself or just nearby within a flower.
