
ROCKING THE DAISIES
Rocking the Daisies is one of the biggest music and lifestyle festivals in South Africa. Simultaneously taking place in two locations over the course of 2-3 days, this is an iconic and environmentally conscious festival like no other. 2021 marks the festival's 15th year anniversary, and this project takes a look at how a modern, abstract psychedelia theme and aesthetic would work—seen through implemented elements throughout all of the festival's marketing strategy and outputs.
CONCEPT & THEME
As the festival occurs during the spring time season, the Namaqualand flowers were taken as a key inspiration towards the aesthetics of the festival's theme. Brimming with care for our planet, and emphasis on the festival's motto
Play Hard, Tread Lightly
illustrations of celestial bodies natural objects were chosen for visual cues.

COLOUR PALETTE & TYPEFACE
The colour palette is made up of warm shades of orange, yellow, and reds—reminiscent of the various Namaqualand flowers, as well as an ode to carefree, 70's concert colour palettes.
Aboria Bold and Aboria Medium is used throughout all the elements as the chosen typeface.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media posts were created to bring about hype and awareness leading up to the festival. Individual artists, line-up artists, main event information, as well as ticket sales and merchandise promotional posts were included.













PRINT MEDIA
Outdoor print media to be displayed in popular areas of interest were billboards and print posters, detailing the key bits of information about the event. The festival's website is included throughout, as a way to inform viewers where to go for more information and further details.



PROMOTIONAL ITEMS
A variety of merchandise will be available for purchase, with a featured promotion for free collectable stickers upon purchasing any combination of a t-shirt, bag, and face mask.
