A SONG OF HOPE (Documentary film about Guinea-Bissau)

A documentary about the plight of the African country of Guinea-Bissau. Abandoned albino children living in fear of falling victim of rituals, starving to death and the lack of basic health care provision. But there is a way out of all this. There is hope. «A song of hope» is a piercing and candid portrayal. The quintessence of feelings that you experience first-hand, that you interpret in your own different way, made into a film aimed at telling you a true story.

Many simply do not have time to get to the orphanage, they are killed on the way.
When I was 15 years old, they wanted to marry me away. a husband was chosen for me. A 55 year old man.  I didn’t want this life for my self. I didn’t want to sell my soul for food.
Children were simply abandoned on the street or not cared for properly.
I have been living here since childhood, I ended up in an orphanage when I was  just a little girl.
This is where we live , the orphanage has become our home.
Society has always treated me differently. People avoided me and were a little afraid, because I'm different.
Someone said: “give me your hair, let me cut your hair! It was these things that scared me.
They don’t understand that I just have different genetics.
He was literally obsessed with this idea: “I have to cut your hair at all costs!”
This is something from the realm of black magic.
We are all people and there is no difference between us. As Jesus said, he loves everyone regardless of the race.
Well, my dream ..... I would like to finish school, finish the 5th grade and go to 6th grade.
They will smile, they real hug, they real love, they are really sharing. The real community you will find on this country.
What about the real people working on the market? What about the real people planting potatoes, all this thing.
What about the real people wanting their kids to have a bad education?
What about the real people wanting their kids to have a bad health care?
Do they still have hope? Because life is not just on the middle.
Life is on back, life is on front. All of this, those people are here, in Guinea-Bissau.
It’s not fair. It’s wrong. The way they see this country. In Guinea-Bissau, people do not consume drug in Guinea-Bissau. Guinea-Bissau is strategic point where.. it’s on the middle… …the drugs from somewhere else come here and, from here, go somewhere, away, to Europe, or to South America, somewhere.
But why Guinea-Bissau is one who pays the price, when people say it's not a good country? We are good people and we love to share our love with the entire world.
But it’s the time for people to give a chance to this country, to come in and see with their own eyes…
