Type Glossary -Pop up booklet

We were asked to design and make a pocket size glossary of typographers’ terms, using the common 24 terms given to us. After the brief was given to me the first thought came to my mind was to make a pop-up book. I always loved books that pop-up with interesting imagers. This was my first time designing a pop-up book and it was quite challenging for me. After so many attempts of doing it in scratch paper I finally figured how to make it all technical and easy to use.

The theme I approached for the book is “Gravity” because without neither force nor still gravity you want be able to pull or push any of the pop-ups I have used in the book. I have used the color light blue for out of space, white to represent stars and black to represent planets. Furthermore I have used the font family Helvetica, the font gives a modern and sophisticated look to the reader. I have included pop-ups where the reader will find it in unexpected places throughout the book. the reader will be eager to find out what is next. I have also used many different styles of pop-ups and experimented them in many ways I can. The paper I have used for the book is a glossy texture, easy to hold and light as possible.

After so many hours of cutting into perfection and technically placing all the pop-ups in order I finally completed the book. it was more than I expected and Im very happy how it turned up.
