Traditional Contemporany

Traditional Contemporany is one of the two lines of the brand Second, based on the atmosphere of the Catalan coast, more specifically Barcelona, seeks to inspire the calm and warmth that goes back to the environment in which the publisher is founded. Sun, summer, leisure, Mediterranean; these are just some of the words that define the environment in which this line is centered.
The auxiliary furniture is part of the social status upper-middle range, to be located in elegant and luxurious homes in the highest areas of the province of Barcelona.
Prototype construction

Melo's construction process required a great deal of precision when it came to recreating the curved characteristics of the metal handrail that forms the structure of the waitress. As we did not have an exact mould of the desired shapes, we had to make use of a manual metal bending machine and a 1:1 scale plan as a guide. In addition, the wood used for the tray function has been modified by casting with the CNC machine and then treated with oil.

CNC machine and subsequent treatment with coconut oil, making them feel safer when carrying objects and food.

Welding played a fundamental role in the development of our furniture, as extra elements had to be added to the metal structure to make it an optimal waiter's table. Starting with the grip bracket, the metal supports that would later hold the wood, and the nuts that hold the castors in place with bolt screws. After welding all the elements mentioned above, a radial sanding machine was used to give a better finish to the piece.
