In 2011, ArtEZ Enschede workshops department hosted the third edition of the Memento project, an international educational art exhibition involving students from several art & design schools in Europe that served as an introductory course for exchange students.
The Memento project focuses on memory and recollection. Become tries to show how moments in life, which eventually become memories, can change or affect us, forcing us to adapt and grow in response to the marks left upon us and the lessons learnt. What started as a sculpture soon became a performance, ending up with an art book containing part of the original statue and a brochure summarizing every clip showed in the video performance.
Become was exhibited in Memento's exhibitions in Bristol, London (UK), Enschede (NL), Valencia (ES), Brussels (BE). Special thanks to Erik Kok, Rudi Bastiaans, Marcel Vos and Willem Boom.
