Small Footprint, Big Sound
BEOSOUND EMERGE is a super slim, sculptural speaker with a small footprint that belies its impressive acoustic output. It was designed to sit seamlessly on a shelf in the home alongside domestic objects. In keeping with the domestic scale of the speaker, the material palette is informed by residential interiors. Taking inspiration from the format of a book on a shelf, it features premium knitted textiles and crafted aluminium on its spine and is wrapped in a jacket of natural timber or black polymer.
The tapered silhouette accentuates the slim nature of the speaker and reduces reverberation, while the architectural opening on the rear of the speaker – which forms both the air inlet and cable management system – ensures it is desirable from every angle. To ensure a rich, room-filling sound, LAYER worked in close collaboration with the Bang & Olufsen “tonmeisters” throughout the design process.
