Abu Gosh — a conceptual upbeat colorful café.
Housed in an alley in a tiny 1911 garden pavilion, Abu Gosh serves up authentic Middle Eastern food from its 22-square-meter space.
BEFORE
The exquisite building’s facades had been renovated in the process of working on this project — as a result we can see a restored roof and renovated ventilation system.

IN PROGRESS
The original brick was repaired and painted white before layering in a playful palette of blue, pink, and yellow accents. The tall windows, which were restored with a historic pattern, fill the interior with maximum natural light.

Tiny pavilion had to accommodate an open kitchen, seating area, and a bathroom.

The furniture has also been fit into the interior, becoming a part of an overall picture; solid oak tables, multi-colored chairs, table stands, window sills, arched shelves, antique green fountain – all of it is to become new experience and memories for the guests and to be shared with others.
A communal table in the center offers space for larger parties, while other tables, like the bar tables seat smaller groups and several window-side tables with soft cushions add extra spots. In the summer, extra tables and chairs are moved to the open veranda in the courtyard.

For Abu Gosh there had been used only natural décor elements, nice-to-touch materials and unique furniture pieces and lights. Vintage lamps from the 1950s are suspended from the ceiling for additional light. Bold shades of blue, pink and yellow are combined with the restored ancient walls of the pavilion and handmade cement lacy tiles. All the details give this space freshness and lightness.

A second chance has been given to this petit pavilion. Once the building that laid abandoned, now serves as a heartwarming, friendly café, hosting gatherings and letting the guest to learn a lot about a Middle Eastern culture by exploring their food.
