Relay for Life E-Card

Relay For Life
Last year I had an opportunity to design a rich internet experience for my school. I decided to focus my design around the Relay For Life Event that takes place every year at Philadelphia University.  The experience would be created through the use of an electronic card which was designed to be able to let people spread the word about the event and encourage widespread involvement. I centered my idea around the concept of luminaries, which have been used at past events to honor cancer survivors as well as remember the life of those who have died from the disease. Through the experience the user would be introduced to the Relay For Life event and then encouraged to create a luminary on a digital paper bag. The user would be able to upload images of a loved one or write a message on the luminary. The user then has the option of sharing this luminary with others. The whole experience for me in creating this rich internet application was very rewarding. I enjoyed the entire design process of this project, from resource gathering to designing the storyboards. I put a lot of time and effort into this project and gained valuable experience in designing with the user in mind.
