Objective:
To promote Man v Food. Somewhat different to most of our shows, the presenter, Adam crosses America in search of some of the most extreme dishes his country has to offer. Huge burgers, extremely hot curries and colossal deserts are all standard. The show climaxes in a competition to get a full course finished.
Strategy:
The show encapsulated a broad range of ideas making it difficult to define. Taking the character from the opening credits as inspiration, we set about creating a graphic treatment looking at old boxing posters providing the sense of the traditional show down. Working closely with animators we began bringing to life humorous scenarios all the while adhering to strict branding and channel identity. Mixed with the show footage, an all-important script and audio mix, the promo developed organically into something funny, informative and on brand. For a show seemingly outside of the Sony Max box, we managed to promote the show in a way that our audience would come to take as essential viewing. Through an intense but fun collaboration we developed something quite unique.
