This is a series of illustrations I made for Asociatia Techsoup Romania, an NGO heavily involved in supporting other NGOs with different tech related products, training but also in educational activities revolving around teaching the teachers and promoting tech skills for education.
The illustrations accompany a series of stories the NGO has published across their programs that showcase a few situations where extraordinary circumstances were met with extraordinary energy and ingenuity and love by teachers and civic minded individuals and organizations during a crippling pandemic.
There were stories of people trying to digitize access to public administration, others who try and keep their traditions alive, others voting digitally while others supported vulnerable women with basic toiletry, still others making students feel like astronauts to dull the pressures of social distancing, or keeping the social fabric alive in fun zoom sessions.
It was a pleasure working on this project and coming up with different solutions for each story. I developed and kept a style throughout, using vector based tools and a mouse. I aimed to render each piece with a nice texture, a rich feel and make them dynamic, fun and relevant. The images were also a strong visual communication element used in promoting the stories and their heroes on social media.
