"BUS" | Currency design, coupon
BUS is an Italian acronym for "Buono di Uscita Solidale", that means "Coupon to exit in solidarity" (i.e. exiting from the official financial market). It's a re-usable discount coupon created to enhance people's commercial exchange during this time of crisis in which euros do not circulate enough. That's why I chose a currency design for this project.

The focus for this coupon graphics are people and a bus:
- people, because this solidarity project has people at its center: it's about people being able to exchange (products, services, knowledge...)
- a bus, not just because of the literal recall between the acronym "BUS" and the "vehicle" bus, but also because this coupon is about a project where people choose to "take a journey together", "share a common path"

I chose a Haitian bus called "tap-tap", colorful and always packed with people.
Tap-taps are extremely beautiful, not only because they are so well decorated and colorful, but also because each of them is unique and carries a unique message, painted by hand, as the rest of the bus.
Colors are another important component of this graphics: colors transmit energy and optimism, and I wanted people to feel joy when exchanging these coupons.

After the 5 BUS bill, I was committed to designing a second bill for the value of 1 BUS (corresponding to a 1 euro discount).

The main color for this bill - which is slightly smaller in dimensions than the 5 BUS bill - is green.

The figurative subject, something connected to the local territory where BUS is used, is the tractor of Cervi brothers, 5 Italian heroes from world war 2. On the other side, mom and dad Cervi, the 7 brothers’ parents who survived the war. The illustrations were made by a local graffiti artist.
