So, my done had to draw a mythical creature as a part of his art class. After much discussion, we landed on Jormungandr from Norse mythology (an episode of the new Ducktales iteration helped). After he got going I found I was jealous that he had the opportunity to draw this thing. So I gave it a go as well. 

I wanted to make this look more emblematic, as if we’re something that could be stamped or carved into metal. 

He is the serpent of Midgard and is said to encircle the earth with his length. 

I drew on the mythology of sea serpents to convey his interaction with storms.

I surrounded the serpent with his name and title, both in a Norse rune language and runes reformed and repurposed for English readability.
