Al Baraka
Al Baraka identity created for an Arabic fusion restaurant. The restaurant menu is inspired by Arabic cuisine from the ancientĀ spice road.

The graphic style of the logo is inspired by the Arabic FanlightĀ ā€“ a traditional form of hospitality and
welcome. This decorative architrave can be found above doorways and occasionallyĀ includes a foliage theme or story woven into the mouldings.

During our research into the spice trade we discovered that Arabic spice merchants would weave a sense of mystery by withholdingĀ the origin of their wares. They would maintain their high prices by telling fantastic stories. One old Arabic folk tale tells of the adventure, and danger spice traders were willing to undertake to harvest rare spices. We created a graphic representation ofĀ one such story that dipicts how the spice trader would (at great risk) climb a treaturous cliff face, whilst fighting off a fierce, winged creature to collect his bounty.
