Eyes to See: Gift Booklet

Eyes to See: A Gift Booklet
This project features a special gift booklet created for someone I care about, using a talk from the October 2020 Session of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints General Conference.   This talk was given by Michelle D. Craig, who is the First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency.  While she is in the leadership for that particular part of the church, this talk was part of the general broadcast and given to all membership.  I wanted to create a booklet that would feature some of the most engaging moments of this talk, that bring about that feeling of a change in mind - that we're seeing more than we had previously seen by enlarging our understanding.  I used a very subtle metaphor with the circular pattern, which represents the eyes and seeing with clarity.
Front and back covers feature a mirror image pattern
The word "see" is emphasized with such strength in the title because the meaning in the talk is that it is much more than looking or what we perceive simply with our eyes.  I wanted the reader to feel the strength of the term and wonder why it was emphasized with such strength.
Quotes feature emphasis through both change in typeface and font size.  The typefaces featured are Baskerville and Avenir Next.
Baskerville is featured throughout with the smaller section headings and drop caps, in addition to the featured quote contrasts.
Here we can see the wide inner margin allows a perfect place for image captions to float, and some neatly organized references on the back inner cover peeking through are in a small Avenir Next font.
