Project Solace
Project Solace is a simple solution for keeping food warm and fresh. It creates a suitable environment for the food in order to avoid going stale and cold. This project was primarily worked on for latchkey kids or 'Self care' kids who have to spend a particular amount of time alone at their house during after school hours.

(February-March)
This project was completed in 4 weeks, the whole project was done following a specific design process which helped get a better understanding of the problem and seamlessly  bring out the solution into a finished product.
Various researches have shown that a lot of school kids spend a time span of 2-4 hours on the average alone at home. The working parents of these kids, prepare food for them in the morning before they go to their designated jobs. It is noticed that these kids have to come to stale and boring food after school, these kids choose not to eat this food which in return affects their psychological and physical health.
This is brief meaning of the word 'Solace' here which also tries to explain the reason behind choosing this particular name for the same. The word 'Solace' basically means, to provide comfort when in need. Which is the prime thought that went through my mind while working on this project.
From the above research and key insights, the basic problem was clearly visible. It helped develop a problem statement and further develop a brief on the basis of which the latter part of the project was developed.
From the research that was done on this particular problem, a basic solution was formulated in order to understand the need of the consumer and to work in the right direction for the same.
Developing a user persona helped better know the requirments of the user and to figure out how to go about this project.
Once the problem was understood in detail and the user's perspective was taken completely into consideration, it was time to look at some existing products, forms and aesthetics for inspiration to develop a functional and a visually appealing product.
Rapid sketching helped understand the need of the user in terms of usability, ergonomics, functionality etc. and 'How the product should work'.
Once the 'How it should work' part was understood, exploration in various form and function possibilities helped narrow down a few possible directions that we could go ahead with. Exploring with as many silhouettes, unique shapes, features, aesthetics and functions helped clarify the goal even more.
Rapid cad modelling was done, referred from the sketching that was done earlier to better understand the functions and the form.
once the in-depth Rapid CAD modelling was done, 8 possible forms with various functions and different advantages and disadvantages were shortlisted.
Listing down of various Pros and cons of these final two selections was done to understand which design is better in terms of Form and Function
In depth close to manufacture CAD modelling was done with the selected concept. The internal view above helps understand the inner workings of the product.
Systematic Surface Analysis is important in product design. Zebra analysis was done to understand the surface and to point out errors on surface level. Sectional analysis was done to make sure everything is done with accuracy and the tolerances are kept in mind.
Story boarding helps the viewer understand the basic needs of the user and how the product tries to fulfil them.
Final Renders to showcase the details and functions of the product.
