To Design a logo for a restaurant for like Ikura is no simple matter. There are thousands of ideas that an exotic, far-away country like Japan has to offer. But what is the most deep-rooted, cultural, and traditional aspect of Japan that makes it unique and different to all other civilizations? Its language of course...
The Japanese writing system: Hiragana. The word hiragana literally means "ordinary" or "simple". However it is one of the most beautiful and artistic set of alphabets known to mankind. The aim here is to design a logo in the english language that will be completely inspired by Hiragana. This will give the restaurant an authentic traditional japanese feel, as to reflect on it core values.
