Garment Display Rack

The clothes ladder acts as a display unit for garments and other fabric items. It is intended to be used within the home environment and display the owner's favorite clothing. The ladder's rungs can be adjusted with set screws so that the display can adapt to people’s ever changing requirements. For me, convertibility is an important element in the longevity of a piece of furniture. The material selection for the display rack also contributes to the longevity of the piece because brass lubricates the steel frame as the washers slide to adjust the wood rungs. Over time, the steel's surface will begin to oxidize from the moisture in one's hands and reveal the passage of time and the relationship with the owner. The set screws will additionally marr the surface of the steel and record a history of various display configurations. This ladder elevates the displayed clothing in the same way that a frame or a pedestal raises an everyday object to the status of art. By doing so, the garment rack additionally lengthens the lifespan of the selected clothing items.
