Award items of annual championships for children, 2019
Good design – be it brand identity, packaging or an award item – is for everyone, including businesses as well as NGOs. That's why we embarked on a project, which is exceptional for us but also very lovable, joined by our friend, jewelry designer Sapi Szilágy, with whom we've long wanted to create something nice.
The Hungarian Pony Club Association, founded in 2004, is the largest youth equestrian organization in Hungary – we reimagined the award items bestowed on their championships together with Sapi. Instead of characterless, mass-produced cups repeated to boredom, we aimed for an item with a fresh approach. The challenge was to come up with a new prize with the original budget in mind, and to ensure that children are sincerely happy with the result.
We focused on the characteristic elements of horseback riding: we chose a stalk of straw as the main motif, and elevated the racing certificate to a new level – it also became the packaging of the award item. We only had the logo of the Pony Club to work with, to which we added new brand visuals that we dreamed up. We turned the certificates into a “floral field”: we transformed the visual elements typical of the Pony Club into a unique pattern, using new colors and an exciting font. The pins were given different surface treatments, and unlike previous trophies, these tiny, delicately shimmering pieces of jewelry will find their final place not on the bookshelf but on the racing jacket of proud jockeys.
