Project Description
Within the Georgetown district of Washington D.C., a large public plaza adjacent to the local historic powerhouse provides major pedestrian access across the Chesapeake and Ohio canal.  The proposed canopy was concieved as a way to divide the large plaza space into more intimate pockets while providing opportunities for diverse programming such as seating, plantings, and niches for market vendors.

The funnel like form of the canopy also allows for stormwater capture and reuse, while the fabric material gives the structure an ethereal presence amidst the historic buildings.
