CHASE DREAM SEQUENCE STORYBOARD
One of the most significant scenes I have yet to film is the alternate interactive option in which the viewer chooses which dream Lauren will recount to her therapist. This one is a dream in which she is being chased by an unidentified person in a secluded woodsy area. As mentioned in my previous post, I was planning to film this at Grand Bay, but it has been closed on and off due to flooding, so if this is the case, I will have to find another location. However, any remote nature area or a place that appears remote would also be suitable as it is a small scene. I plan to film this just after the sun has gone down so that I can capture the creepiness of being in a dark area alone without compromising visual quality. Below is some of the inspiration that I've collected for the visuals of this scene.
IN THE TALL GRASS (2019)
In The Tall Grass was a 2019 Netflix adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name. First of all, I really enjoyed this movie as I feel like it was one of the better Stephen King adaptations out there. However, what really struck me was the visuals. I have included some stills from the film to show what I mean. It had this beautiful palette of green and bluish hues and earthy tones and I thought that it was really cool given that horror films don't always focus much on visuals.
The visuals in this film - specifically the scenes set at dusk or night - were a big inspiration for both the aesthetics and time of day I plan to use when creating my own. I really loved how the cinematography capitalized on the intense fear that comes with being stranded in a remote location in the dark. I always thought corn mazes were kind of creepy and this movie only reinforced that.

I really enjoy nighttime photography such as the examples above and I want to try and emulate a similar atmosphere either by filming at the right time or possibly doing some color correcting while editing.
