Golden Gate Park Event Poster

Statement of Intent

The Golden Gate Park event poster is designed to practice visual hierarchy through the use of typefaces, colors, and grids. The type pairing in this poster is Baskerville, being used for the titles of events, and Interstate, used for body text. One of the struggles of laying out the information was the amount of unformatted text there was to begin with. After formatting the text properly and separating the events into nice, organized layout, the priority of the type of hierarchy became the date, the title of the event followed by location. In the final renditions of this project, I took extra care to fine tune the visual hierarchy, the spacing and the typography. The range of black, pumpkin, and gold colors are used to visually distinguish headers and the black color is used for body text.
