From the Ground, Up
No klutziness here
Klutz, maker of popular educational toys, approached my studio Mythmaker Branding & Design for help putting together a complex display stand for their Building Cards products.
The cards come in three models: Castles, Pirate Ships, and Space Ships. The colorfully printed cards interlock to build the toy you want, in unlimited configurations. Klutz gave us sets of cards to work with. I took the original artwork for the cards and started building my stand. Since the artwork was for cards, multiple stages of compositing were involved to build a larger image out of the 2" x 4" card shapes.
It made sense to make the base a castle. Up the sides run the pirate ship, which displays the booty of the cards. Beyond that, at the top of the stand, flies a spaceship against the dark blue heavens. The client marked the display "100% Klutz Certified" and started selling the heck out of them.
