"The Necklace of Wrens"
Originally a poem by Irish poet Michael Hartnett I was exposed to "The Necklace of Wrens" by the band The Gloaming who put mind blowing music and vocals to the already outstanding words. The poem tells the tale of when Michael was a boy sitting in a field and wren hatchlings fly from their nest and alight around his chest to form a necklace. Michael told his grandmother this and she told him that that is an old sign that he will become a poet. And in time he did.

As an art piece this took a long time to come to fruition starting this last year and feeling like it was not working I stepped away from the piece for a time. I couldn't get the right colour pallet or structure. A week ago I felt to urge to revisit the piece and I worked solidly until it was completed.
