This project was for our Silent Hill slot release on the MyKONAMI app. I had a week to concept the line work and render in Photoshop each building. Each Rendered Building took me roughly 8 hours to complete.
The buildings are textured using transformed smart objects. This allowed me to recycle some of the assets for continuity. As a 3D modeller this was actually faster than building these in 3D software.
This process used vector line work and then Illustrator's Live Paint Bucket to fill in the shapes. From there I exported those shape as shape layers into Photoshop where I easily applied layer fx to create a gray scale render. Once the gray scale was complete I used textures to overlay the grayscale to get what you see below.
