The Lantos Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2008 to preserve the legacy of the late Congressman Tom Lantos and continue his work in human rights and religious freedom. 

I had the privilege of designing their new logo and creating new graphics for their website as part of their brand refresh project. Lantos Foundation wanted to give their existing logo a sleeker and more contemporary look, while maintaining brand recognition. 

We followed the traditional design process consisting of conception, refinement, finalization, and production. Prior to our initial meeting, I conducted some brand research and sent a questionnaire for them to fill out in order to gain a better understanding of the current brand, values, and preference towards style and design. 

During our first meeting, we discussed our goals in more detail and outlined specific steps to accomplish those goals. I gathered that their priority was to create a new logo that allowed them to use the logo in more versatile settings such as different social media platforms, brand collaborations and campaigns. 

Using all of the information I gathered, I brainstormed ideas and picked out modern fonts that portrayed a professional and approachable image. After several rounds of presentations, feedback and refinement, we were able to decide on a logo that captured the essence of the brand and the core values of the foundation. 

The design is simple and timeless, yet it is memorable as I have retained some of the aspects of the original logo such as the color and the main image. There are several variations of the primary logo, including one without an image and circular logos so that they can have more flexibility when working with with different formats and background colors. 

This was a very rewarding project to be part of. I hope that my small contribution will make a positive difference in carrying out this important work towards a more just and equitable society.
