يعد متحف قصر الأمير محمد علي بالمنيل من أجمل وأهم المتاحف التاريخية في مصر. يعبر المتحف عن فترة مهمة من تاريخ مصر الحديث وينفرد بتصميمه المعماري الرائع الذى يجمع بين الطراز الإسلامي والمدارس الفنية المختلفة التي مرت على أرض مصر مثل المدرسة المملوكية، كما يتضمن أيضاً بعض الزخارف الشامية والمغربية والأندلسية، بل وشاعت فيه الروح الفارسية وكذلك العثمانية. لذا فهو يعد مدرسة فنية جامعة لعناصر الفنون الإسلامية المختلفة. يتكون قصر الأمير محمد علي باشا من عدة سرايات يحيطها سور خارجي، بداية هذه السرايات سراي الاستقبال، وبرج الساعة، ثم السبيل، والمسجد، ومتحف الصيد الذي أضيف حديثًا عام 1963م، وكانت أول سرايا بالقصر هي سراي الإقامة التي أنشأها 1903م، ثم سراي العرش، والمتحف الخاص، والقاعة الذهبية، هذا إلى جانب الحديقة الرائعة المحيطة بالقصر والفريدة من نوعها.
