Anti-burn hot glue gun design

The story behind the design:

I used to work as a design assistant in a STEM education company, most students were under 10 years old from primary school, they are too young to use hot glue gun to make stuff, even coach gave them professional training they still get burnt while using a hot glue gun. And some of them get really bad burnt on their face and forearm. I felt so bad.

As a industrial designer I really want to solve the problem. So I design a glue gun that is safe for user that they would not get burnt of being hit on nozzle by accident. So here is the hot glue gun redesign. I didn't spend much time on this project but about 1 week, so I can see there still a lot space to improve on this project. However I hope this project might bring inspiration to people and make some change, at least reduce burnt for glue gun user.
