The Dream Journey series was done in May of 2020, in the middle of the COVID lockdown, as an excercise in art therapy to process and cope with the negative emotions from the situation. This challenge, which originated on Instagram, prompted us to imagine some really evocative places such as Garden of Wonderful Discoveries or Museum of Precious Things, and I let myself experiment more freely on a program that wasn't in my comfort zone: Procreate. The whimsical scenes were done in a black and white fashion with some coral accents, as a way to focus on the positives amongst the dreadful situation we were all navigating collectively.

This series name turned out to be extremely appropriate, because it landed me amongst the finalists in the 2021 Bolonia Children's Book Fair Illustration Exhibition. Being one of the 226 finalists out of 3,235 candidates felt like a very appropriate outcome for a series called "DREAM JOURNEY".
