19/03/14 - This started out as just a quick 30 minute sketch of Andros Townsend, and turned into a Premier League Dream Team. I'd been working on the face too much, and wanted to go back to drawing the body. Every now and then I'll make another #plstars, it depends on who's been playing well in the last couple of games. At the end of the season I'll be making a full starting 11 of what I consider to be the best players of the 2013/14 season.

Spurs and England midfielder Andros Townsend who’s been hitting the headlines lately for his fantastic performances in the WC qualifiers. I’ve been impressed with his ability to just keep on running, even late in the game, passing defenders with ease.
Arsenal and Wales International Aaron Ramsey who's had a fantastic start to the 13/14 Premier League season. Wenger looks right to have stood by him all this time. This boy is unstoppable at the moment. In fact, the whole Arsenal midfield is unstoppable.
Liverpool's marquee signing of the 13/14 Summer Transfer window.. Luis Suarez. He's came back, and already he sits 3rd in the Top Scorers table, only 2 behind striking partner Daniel Sturridge. Despite what Alan Hansen thinks, Liverpool's SAS are the best strikers in the PL at this moment in time. We'll see how it ends up..
What a player this midfield man is. Fitted into Manchester City like he was always meant to play there. And this year he's been exceptional. Not a bad free kick either.. If I had to pick a dream team each year, no doubt Yaya would always be there, powering past the opponent's midfield and playing the perfect through ball. Top, top player.
I was finding it quite difficult to think of a stand-out goalkeeper this season, until I remembered Petr Čech. And I think that's exactly what's happened. We've got so used to him being so good, all of the time. No wonder Courtois is wanting to stay at Atletico another year, Cech looks like he could go on forever. A huge signing for Chelsea, and will definitely go down as one of their all-time greats.
I'm going to have too many midfielders, but I couldn't leave this lad out. What a season he's having at St. Mary's. And what a summer he might have. This kid just gets better and better everytime I see him play. 25 years old and already captaining Southampton and (more or less) booking his place in Brazil 2014. He has a bright future ahead of him.
I definitely have too many midfielders. But Chelsea's Eden Hazard has been brilliant
this year. With all 3 Chelsea strikers playing on and off, this speedy Belgian has had to keep things ticking, and he's probably the reason Chelsea currently sit top of the league. I must admit I didn't like him when he joined (mostly due to him announcing all over twitter which club he was going to be joining..) but he's been exceptional this year and is a joy to watch.
Glad he's stopped kicking kids too.
The first defender. Everton FC's Seamus Coleman, who has been at his best this year. I've always liked the player, and was sad to hear Liverpool missed out on him before Everton.. £60,000 he cost them! But he looks a true blue! And with Baines picking up a bad injury this year, he's had a lot to live up to. He hasn't let anyone down. A fantastic player to watch, with an even better future. Welcome to the Dream Team.
My favourite drawing yet ^ Arsenal FC's Per Mertesacker, nicknamed 'the defence pole' by
the Germans, or 'Big F*****g Giant' by the Arsenal fans (The BFG). He's been brilliant since he joined. It sounds daft, but having a big German in your side can sometimes make all the difference. He's cleaned up that Arsenal back four and been the reason they've kept many clean sheets this season. Great player, great buy.
Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez. The best striker partnership the Premier League has seen
in a long time. Just a shame their prolific season didn't amount to the title! Daniel has been scoring for fun since joining Liverpool from Chelsea. People keep saying it won't last, he'll
stop scoring, but he's England's best striker for the World Cup, and without him, everyone
would be writing them off. Looking forward to seeing him play next season. I would have
drawn the dance, but I've already done that, and wanted to show off Daniel's nimble run.
And to finish it off, Everton FC's Leighton Baines, who has been at his best for a few years now. One of the most reliable defenders in the PL, and known for coming up with a goal or two, especially with a dead ball. He was injured a while during this campaign, and we seen the rising talent of Seamus Coleman. Both of these together are real assets to Everton. I've got a feeling they'll only be better next year.

So here's the squad in full:

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech (Chelsea)
Defenders: Leighton Bains (Everton) Per Mertesacker (Arsenal) Seamus Coleman (Everton)
Midfielders: Yaya Toure (Man City) Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) Adam Lallana (Southampton)
Eden Hazard (Chelsea) Andros Townsend (Tottenham)
Strikers: Luis Suarez (Liverpool) Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

2 players from Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool & Everton
1 from Tottenham, Man City and Southampton

Hope you've enjoyed the series!

Looking forward to doing another one next year.
