The drivetrain also remains stock, but may soon sport an aftermarket LSD to improve rear traction while drifting.

The suspension is now made from KYB AGX adjustable shocks, with a ground control coilover kit.  I'm also running a ground control rear camber arm.  The steering is a stock Turbo 2 steering rack for smaller steering ratios, and the tie rods have been spaced out a 1/4" with washers to increase the steering angle while drifting.  All the accessories have been removed ie air conditioning, power steering, sound deadening, dash reinforcement, and I've also relocated the ECU.  All this in attempt to save weight in a car with very little horsepower.  Approximately 150hp if i'm lucky, but I've yet to dyno the car.
I made this video about 4 years ago in 2007.  This is at Altamont Raceway in Altamont, CA.  At the time the car was mostly stock with the exception of aftermarket shocks.  The springs were stock, but cut to lower the car.  I don't recommend this suspension set up, but I wanted to display my driving technique with a stock and underpowered car.

This is what I started with towards the middle to end of 2006.  The car was an automatic and had a blown motor, but I purchased it for $350 and some paint supplies.
And the work began.  The black car was my old track car, but I crashed it badly and it was no longer safe to race on the track.  So, I began to remove everything from the red car to prepare it for the new motor and suspension from the black car.
Fall 2006
A low mileage remanufactured 13B installed from the Black car and ready to go!  Excuse the dark image, I finished the installation in my garage very late at night.
Shortly after I got the car running I took it to the local raceway for a little drifting practice.  The suspension was a very weak combination of KYB stock replacement shocks and tein lowering springs.
Winter 2007
I then purchased a set of wheels I found for cheap, and installed my black hood for looks.
Winter 2007
With all the racing I was doing a racing seat was desperately needed.
Spring/Summer 2007
The wheels I purchased were too heavy for the track though.  So, I switched them for a set of 16 inch Ford Crown Victoria wheels I found at the junkyard.  I also replaced the hood with a lightweight Aluminum hood from the convertible rx7 models.
I also began some needed body work on the passenger side and replace the door and began sanding the paint.
Spring/Summer 2007
A quick spray paint job with walmart spray paint made the car all one color again, and it looked decent enough to take to the track.
For this competition I placed in the top 16 out of 50+ drivers.  With the same stock replacement KYB shocks, but I change the springs to stock springs that I cut to lower the car.
Spring 2008
I got bored and modified the front bumper a bit.
Spring 2008
I also decided to paint the car a crazy bright purple color for the race track.  It didn't last long though because it attracted too much attention on the street and much harassment from the local law enforcement.
End of 2009
I got rid of the bumper and the purple paint.  I painted the car a single stage SEM Hot Rod Flat Black.  It covers the nicks and bruises on this car, and looks good in the meantime.
Beginning of 2010
I also installed some new goodies.

Suspension:
KYB AGX Adjustable Shocks
Ground Control Springs
Camber Plates

Motor:
Koyo Aluminum Radiator
Summer 2010
Roll Cage Installed for added safety.

Six years later I'm still driving this car to it's limits with the little amount of parts I could afford.  This picture was taken at the 2010 All Star Bash at Willow Springs International Raceway hosted by Just Drift.  I don't get to drive as much as I used to because being a college student with no income doesn't support this hobby.  I can't wait to get back out there and improve my car's set up and my driving skills.

This is my track queen. A 1991 Mazda Rx7. It's a never ending project. That changes with the racing seasons.
