About:
MUSA, is the Underwater Museum of Art located in Cancun, Mexico. A unique museum with a clear objective: to reduce the number of tourists who regularly visit the coral reefs, thus protecting the marine fauna of the area.
Challenge & Solution:
A beautiful branding process that had as a challenge the redesign of its logo, keeping the essence of the entity and all that it means. A logo that with few elements tries to represent the concept of art combined with the sea. Something not so easy since we are not used to seeing underwater museums every day!
For the head palette no more than 2 colors were allowed. The chosen ones are related to water to be combined with aquatic elements, such as bubbles. These bubbles play with the “U” creating a snorkel tube.
To complete the stationery system, some of the main items include corals and other marine flowra. It has only been in the promotional stickers where it has been possible to apply a secondary color palette based on underwater life.
For the typeface, two San Serifs have been chosen. For the acronym MUSA, the original style of the font is still respected, having as its main characteristic an “A” absent from a crossbar.
