Putting a Modern Spin on an Old-School Snack from our Childhood

Cerita Roti is the latest addition to Kopi Kenangan's ever expanding portfolio of F&B concepts. Founded at the end of 2020, the brand focuses on selling old-school roti sobek (bread), presenting a new and innovative spin on an existing product that is tailored to the modern Kopi Kenangan market.​​​​​​​
THE CHALLENGE
How do we make a traditional F&B product relevant and exciting to the modern audience?

THE SOLUTION
We created a new brand identity from scratch, from logo to collaterals, that tells Cerita Roti’s unique brand story: the combination of nostalgic roti sobek from our childhood with a cool, absurdist twist that is fit for the modern audience.​​​​​​​





We mixed and matched a variety of absurdist and funny concepts in order to create a unique set of Cerita Roti characters. 




THE RESULT
1. Developed a unique brand DNA that combines the new culture and tastes of the modern audience with the nostalgic bread of our childhood
2. Collaborated with the client to build a brand personality & vocabulary that is weird and wonderful
3. Brought the Cerita Roti story to life through quirky illustrations, tone of voice, and customer touchpoints that celebrate creativity, imagination, and personality in enjoying a delicious and satisfying piece of roti sobek
