Board Game Design Documentation

You've Got Mail Has Received Its First Professional Print!
While the cards are not finalized, and the board may still be tweaked, this fist set of images reflects the finished state of the box and card layouts.
You’ve Got Mail is a 60’s themed post-apocalyptic mail delivery game for one to two players. During the game, the player(s) will pick up and deliver mail and packages from county to county across the map, all while dealing with the new terrain and creatures that the apocalypse has brought with it.

You've Got Mail is a board game I am currently in the process of designing from beginning to end. The game is planned to be a new type of experience for table top that takes cues from Oregon Trail, Risk, and the 2020-21 pandemic all in a 60's aesthetic. More updates will be posted here as I produce more content for it.

The work shown below are various aspects of the board game production. You've Got Mail is still currently in the design/prototyping phase. This page will act as a collection of the work through various stages to show the progress that has been made. None of the work posted here is final.
Game Box Art Progression
The box has gone through two large changes with the size change and the creature design. The original box and board were going to be more long and skinny in nature rather than the 12 x16 x2 rectangle it has turned into. The spider was added into the design once the creatures of the game were finalized. This replaced the red white and blue stripes to give the cover a mood closer to the game inside. The box comfortably fits the board inside with room to one side and above for the many cards and figurines that come with the game. The grey stripe is a staple of 60's board games including a lot of the information about the game down its length. The sides have had space left blank so that a games average length can be added after further testing.
Board Art and Design Progression
The board is a 24 x 24 board that is quad fold to reduce it to 12 x12 in the box. The board has by far gone through the most changes. Though many have been small they had sweeping impacts on the play of the game. Spaces have been modified for balance and sizing, as well as multiple cities being combined to better keep the game moving and simplify the upgrade system.
Card Art and Design Progression
You've got mail contains a plethora of cards that keep the game varied and new on each playthrough. The three main card types as seen above are Mail Cards, Monster Cards, and Event Cards.
