The research for this was quite straightforward, spend time with the members and understand the mood they present and who they were, listen to their music, and pick up on their energy and attitude, take their content and find a style that represented who they were and what they were doing.

 

Once I found the theme I was going for I researched photographers and photography that would gel well within this theme.

 

 

The concept is within the hardcore mentality, it follows a sense of pride, brotherhood, honour, passion and devotion. When I consider these values, I think of family and the pride within it, or fraternity and the unbreakable codes, Visually I consider a coat of arms, or a family shield, this is where the style developed from.

 

The cover photograph and use of crosses is to symbolise a return to nature, the band have a very misanthropic tone and theme to their music, and the idea of leaving mankind behind, the absolute dismissal and abandonment of technology and society and returning to the wild. Their music has an eerie, dark and ominous tone which I feel works well with the chosen photograph, it represents the bands values and is visually representative of their music, an isolated atmospheric hauntingly quiet landscape.
