Vanidades Cosmetic Surgery Logo, Brochures, & More
One of the initial tasks of my job when I started working here in April 2012 was to revise the logo for a more modern look. The original logo, made by a previous designer, had a symbolic element which I thought was a good starting point. The female showed too much of her body however, which was irrelevant for a logo. So I encased her in a border after eliminating the bottom portion and added a glaze to the type.

The swashed "V" was a letter chosen by the owner. At the time, we were attempting to divide our advertising for spanish and english speakers. The top was for the spanish speakers, gestured by the sans type below the main name, and for english speakers I changed cosmetic surgery to Georgia for a more american sensibility.

To appeal for an english audience the logo was slightly changed to "Vanity" but retained the same silhouette.

I was asked to do a Facebook timeline and thought it would be a good idea to incorporate some water. Originally, it was intended to have a folding origami look for the background, but in the end I preferred the water; rendered it with RealFlow & Maya.

The owner wanted to see how the website would look if it was visually improved. I intended a more coherent identity by keeping a similar color to the logo. I then logically continued the connotation of purple to signify delicacy and softness. Optima as the main typeface and Arnhem for body text.

For the gallery photos, the idea was to have an introductory animation of the procedure made in HTML5/CSS3. The interactivity would be improved on the sub-navigation bar. The user would hover over VIEW GALLERY, and the list of galleries would appear on the other side of the bar.
