About the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk

A former marketing executive with United Services Automobile Association (USAA) in San Antonio, Texas, Dawn Johnson presently serves as founder and chief executive officer of DMJ Consulting. She began her career at USAA as a marketing specialist and most recently served as executive vice president of marketing. Over the years, Dawn Johnson has actively supported charitable organizations, including the National Foundation for Transplants, Haven for Hope, and the South Texas chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), where she serves on the board of trustees.

As one of its premier fundraisers, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk raises money for BLOOD cancer treatment research. In nearly 200 communities in North America, Light the Night inspires individuals to walk in memory of lost loved ones or in support of someone currently engaged in the fight against cancer. Current sponsors of the Light the Night Walk include Burlington Coat Factory, Genentech, and Pfizer.

Since 1949, LLS has dedicated itself to providing education and services to those diagnosed with these diseases and to funding important life-saving blood cancer research. As a nonprofit organization, LLS relies on the generosity and contributions of its supporters to continue fulfilling its mission.
