Back in the early 90's I did a Children's Bible for Zondervan Publishing House (The Read With Me Bible) that is still chugging along in bookstores today. These characters were painted with gouache on watercolor paper, which was the way I was making art at the time.
I have a digital book (due out in 2014) that is my take on the Biblical story of the Good Samaritan. In this picture our hero is getting ready to take a dangerous trip. A bit more on my blog here.
Sure enough, our hero finds trouble on the road.
