Transatlantyk Festival 2015 Opening Gala

Preparing visuals to the last part of the ceremony it has been a great honor for us becouse because it was dedicated to the work of one of Hollywood's greatest contemporary composers, who tragically died a few weeks ago while piloting his own plane. Of course, I'm talking about James Horner, whose death saddened many film music lovers. The orchestra performed suites from three mega productions, for which Horner created a soundtrack. At the beginning, we heard topics from James Cameron's film. Titanic. Barbara Gutaj acted as a soloist. We all know it, but let us remind you for the record: the spectacular story of the tragic cruise won 11 Oscars. One of the statuettes went to the composer - for the best music. The song, based on a musical theme created by Horner, also won an Oscar - which can be considered the artist's second Oscar-winning success. This was followed by the suite from the Oscar-nominated track from Ron Howard's Apollo 13 film, followed by the orchestra performing themes from James Cameron's Avatar. All musical sounds were accompanied by visualizations made by Tving Stage Design and Karolina Jacewicz.
